What Is The John Morse Legacy Society?

The John Morse Legacy Society was established in 1994 for the purpose of creating a permanent endowment fund within Beloit Health System Foundation to ensure that the future healthcare needs of stateline area residents will be met. An endowment fund is a vital tool for any organization that wants to assure its future. Beloit Health System is committed to providing local access to the best doctors, nurses and technicians available to help meet the health care needs of the communities we serve, both now and in the future.

The establishment of The John Morse Legacy Society confirms the hospital's commitment to the residents of the stateline area. The community support for the endowment fund demonstrates our shared health care values and the generosity of area residents.

Membership in The John Morse Legacy Society
Membership in The John Morse Legacy Society is open to any individual, business or community organization that would like to make a financial investment in the long-range goals of Beloit Health System. Membership requires only a financial contribution to the Beloit Health System Foundation Endowment Fund. Those making a contribution to the fund become members of The John Morse Legacy Society. 

Making Your Gift
To become a member of The John Morse Legacy Society, your gift can be made in one of the following ways: a cash gift; gifts through a will, bequest, life insurance policy; a trust; or a gift of real estate. Once the gift has been made, a key benefit will be the personal satisfaction in knowing that your gift has made a real difference in healing injuries and saving lives. The Morse Family
John Morse was the son of Colonel Robert Morse, formerly President and General Manager of Fairbanks Morse and Company. In 1955, Col. Morse contributed $80,000 to build the "Morse Annex" on the east end of Beloit Health System's original facility on Olympian Boulevard. The Annex included 40 new patient beds and a physical therapy department to benefit the people of the greater Beloit area. 

Col. Morse's intention was to provide a significant health benefit for the community while creating a lasting memorial to his son. John Morse died in an automobile accident in San Francisco in 1941.
